2011 Ultimate Blog Party
Hi, my name is Kim McCallie and this is my first Ultimate Blog Party. I am new to the blogging world having just started A Well-Seasoned Life in August of 2010. My blog focuses on sharing recipes and reviewing cookbooks with a little of my personal life served on the side. My motto is that I specialize in Southern comfort food seasoned with a sense of humor.
I'm a full-time working mom with two sons, ages six and eight. They're both smart, funny, and constantly hungry. So, when I'm not feeding them and helping them with homework, I try to squeeze in some time to work on my blog.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in English and have been looking for a creative outlet for a while. When my older son asked me what I dreamed of being when I grew up, my first thought was writer. A little later, he asked me to remind him about the dream I had that never came true. What a wake-up call!! How could I encourage my children to follow their dreams when I had never done so myself?
So, in August 2010, I began following my dream of becoming a writer, a food writer to be exact. I was fortunate enough to grab the attention of Gooseberry Patch, a cookbook publisher. They first chose to feature my blog on their "Featured Friday" segment. Then, soon after, I was asked to become part of their Early Bird Reviewers, reviewing their cookbooks on my blog.
These last few months have been quite a whirlwind of excitement as I have expanded myself creatively through writing and photography. I've made so many new friends and connections through blogging than I ever thought possible. If I never write another blog post, I feel like I have fulfilled my life dream and how many people can say that?
In addition to my blog, you can also find me chatting on Twitter.

Eating a salad daily can bring you a new life. Vegetables and fruit are rich with many nutrients which contribute to our overall health. Suggest me some easy makeable caesar salad recipe for my family.
