It seems like there's hardly any time between the 4th of July and the first week of school. Another week of summer has already passed. We haven't had a summer vacation this year so the kids and I went to the movies on Friday afternoon to try to squeeze in a little fun. We saw Cars 2. Then, we ordered Chinese take-out when we got home. It was a good afternoon spending time with my sons and listening to them reenact the scenes from the movie. I'm glad I made this day happen!
I've been thinking about the blogging world lately and wondering what your goals are for your blog. Where do you want it to lead? Is it a stepping stone to an ultimate goal or is maintaining your current blog the end result? There are a lot of creative people out there so I know that some of you must want to be and could be the next Ree Drummond, Christy Jordan, or Sara and Kate from Our Best Bites. For me, I'm more interested in the writing aspect of blogging. My dream is to become a writer and, preferably, to write about food. What is your dream?

The Rules...
- Please link up to the URL of your specific recipe post, not the URL of your main blog. When it asks for "Name", type in the name of your recipe.
- Please place a link back to this post in your original post or Grab My Button included below.
- Share your most recent dessert. Link up as many desserts as you would like. More is always better when it comes to desserts!
- Leave me a comment in this post to let me know that you've joined the party. Also, if you're having your own linky party, feel free to post the link to your party in the comment section. I would love to join your party!
- Now, let's share the love! Please visit at least two others and comment on the delicious desserts that they've brought to the party. It means so much to a blogger to get some positive commentary!
The party starts here:
Your pie looks great! A pie that taste like a cookie...that's the best kind, although I have never had one like that!
ReplyDeleteGoals for blogging? I just do it to document my work and share with others. I had started sharing all my desserts with friends on FB, but then thought well maybe they all arent that interested so my blog is a place that are interested and love sweets like I do. Maybe writing a book one day would be nice!
Today I have linked up Pink Lemonade cupcakes and simple Chocolate Vanilla Cupcakes.
Have a great weekend!
I've linked my fresh strawberry tart, thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy goals for blogging are pretty simple, I just want to have fun with it and meet other people who love food as much as I do. It would be good if the blog could pay its way but if not, it's not an expensive hobby.
Thanks so much for hosting! :) I recently wrote a bucket list and number 27 was to write a cookbook. I think that will be my ultimate goal...getting it published and people buying it is a completely different story, though! haha! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart. My sweet tooth is quivering. LOL! They all look so yummy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Kim
Hi Kim!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited that my Crack Pie grabbed the top spot this week! Yeah! This week I've brought over my Apple Hand Pies, Chocolate Chip Oreo Brownie Bars, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes.
My blogging goals are simple...have fun, try a ton of new recipes, and meet other people that are as crazy about food as I am!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Thanks for hosting! I'm so excited to be #3! :)
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to, maybe, eventually make money off my blog. I love the writing. My pipe dream is to own a bakery one day. I keep telling my husband I need a trailer for my driveway that can be certified for baking, so I can sell my stuff. :)
I linked up my Chocolate Cake with Marshmallow Frosting and my Peanut Butter S'mores. Have a great weekend!
You're right, Maureen. Blogging is a fairly inexpensive hobby. I have to cook anyway so I may as well take photos and share my recipes.
ReplyDeleteOK, so there's some new doughnut pans staring at me waiting to be used and featured...but other than that...
Hi Kim, I'm thrilled to be tied for #2! I almost forgot about them! My goal for blogging started mainly to preserve my recipes for family and friends, but I would love to have a cookbook one day. Have a great weekend. I'm linking up my Blueberry Overload Muffins. I had so many blueberries so it's a blueberry linky party as well. Hope you can stop by!
ReplyDeletemmmm deciding which one to link up!
ReplyDeletealso, I have a linky up right now called "flash-Back-Friday" and you can link up and old post of yours! Its like lookin back in a scrapbook. ;) God Bless!

Kim, Thank you once again for hosting!
ReplyDeleteMy BIG goal it to have my own Cook Book published. Not just sent off to a printing company...I want to see my recipes on the shelves of Book Stores, Amazon....
And I believe it WILL happen! :)
*I think you will get your dream also..you are a great blog writer!
So great to hear about everybody's dreams and goals. I can't wait to see what happens with everyone in the future.
ReplyDeleteThat pie looks heavenly! Thanks so much for hosting! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've linked for the first time - thanks for the easy-to-follow instructions--I just hope I did it right! Now I'm off to see everyone else's goodies. This is fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to comment on your post. I think blogging is an excellent way to document snapshots (literally and figuratively) of one's life, so my immediate goal is to document/blog more, still make it interesting and readable, and to visit and comment on more blogs. Cyber-friendships are fun and based on shared interests, and (selfishly spoken here) not a lot of investment of oneself time-wise. ;) Technical goals are to learn about photography and blog design. Ultimately I would love to have a self-supporting blog like some of those you mentioned. The idea of making money sitting in front of a computer appeals! :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I think the most successful blogs are those that humbly put the focus and interest back on the reader, such as you do, Kim, when you pose questions that make us think, take the time to include us in your thoughts, and express kindness through your comments.
Kim, Good question. I started my blog years ago to keep my family in touch with what's going on. Just this past year has it turned into a food blog. I'm always asked to bring a dish, and then asked for the recipe. So this is my way of sharing my recipes with family, friends and all of you! Right now I guess I don't have any bigger goals that trying to figure out what to make for dinner tomorrow and how to get my kids to their activities! ha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting,
Aimee @ ShugarySweets
Lovely lemon drops;)
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderfull if we coud make blog writing our main occupation. We all know it takes time to think about ideas ..write them down and make that all an interesting package.I use to write diary and treat my blog a bit like that.I do not write only about the food but about my life and the beautiful places in the country I live in:)Thank you for the possibility to link up;)
Just linked up with my ladyfingers. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you again for hosting! Blogging is a fun hobby for me, and a way to document favorite family recipes.
ReplyDeleteI loved all those recipes featured. They look so good! I linked up my Blueberry Crumb Bars this week.
ReplyDeleteMy blog originally started out as a way to get writing again and since I love to cook, it seemed natural to put the two together. But, the blog has evolved more personally than I ever imagined. My husband has gotten even more involved and cooking for him has become therapy and a way for him to unwind after work, and now my 7 yr old is so eager to lend a hand in the kitchen. She wants to watch every cooking show with me and learn along. My long term goal is just to continue to grow and meet more readers and gain inspiration. I think somewhere down the road in our lives, we would love to open a little coffee shop or bistro :)
I linked up Rice Pudding this week, good comfort food. Thanks for hosting Kim.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to write a book, with life I set my dreams aside for my family. I love to cook so I put the love of the two together and I am loving every minute of it. It would be awesome to have a book/cookbook published one day, but for now I am just enjoying doing something for myself again.
Thanks for the invitation and for hosting. I linked my Lime Bars. I just want to have fun and share great recipes with my blogging. I don't have any grand designs--just fun. Take care!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for inviting me to your great party. I am sorry to be late with my Apple Bites, but I have been out for most of the week end, but here I am. Thanks for hosting and hope you have a wonderful week!
Miz Helen
I want to write cookbooks. That is my ultimate goal. I would love for my blog to become my main job, and to get paid to write it. This September I'm launching my own internet bakery business, and my blog will be a big part of that. Good luck with the writing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for inviting me to share this week---I'll link back to your blog once I get home from vacation.
