Restaurant Shout-out: Eddie's Pizzaria, Anderson, SC

Due to my husband's job, he is currently spending a lot of time in Anderson, SC. And, during his stay, he has discovered a local pizzaria that he has been patronizing on a regular basis: Eddie's Pizzaria. Reminiscent of a place from Food Network's Diners, Drive-in's and Dives, Eddie's Pizzaria is located in a convenience store at a gas station. But, that doesn't stop it from being wildly popular and extremely delicious.

Sweet Indulgences Sunday #41

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. All of the stores around me have their Valentine's Day stuff out and I love plundering through it all. I've found so many cute things that I just had to have. I can't imagine what all I could find if I went somewhere like Michael's or HomeGoods. That could be dangerous on the wallet.

The Madeleine Experiment

Last Saturday, I experimented with making madeleines for the first time. I had purchased a madeleine pan around the holidays and felt it was time I put it to use. This will definitely go down as a learning experience for me.

Review and Giveaway: The Mystic Blue Spice Company, Part I

I love spices! Whenever I'm out shopping, I always have to stop in the spice section to make sure there's nothing I need or to see if there's anything new on the shelf that needs to make its way to my kitchen. So, you can imagine my excitement when I was contacted by the Mystic Blue Spice Company and asked to review their spices. I thought it was quite fitting that A Well-Seasoned Life would review seasonings and spices. And, the company were generous enough to provide some spices for one of my lucky followers.

Sweet Indulgences Sunday #40

Hello! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I was busy with some baking yesterday so didn't get around to posting the linky party. I made some whoopie pies and madeleines. Learned a few lessons in the process. I'll share the details here on the blog a little later.

I can't wait to see what desserts you've come up with this week. There were so many nice recipes at the linky party last weekend. I love seeing all of your ideas for Valentine's Day (which is right around the corner). Do any of you have any plans for the big day? I don't have any yet. Last year, I prepared a nice dinner for my husband. I'll probably do the same thing this year. Not sure if I'm up to battling the crowds at the restaurants. I'll count on all of you to inspire my Valentine's Day dessert.

Happy New Year! I love reading and getting inspired by other people's resolutions. So many of you have made resolutions for your baking repetoire for the year. I personally want to learn to perfect the frosting swirl on cupcakes. I see so many beautiful cupcakes and I want to just be a part of it all. I've got my tips and I'm ready to start trying! Whether it's working with puff pastry, yeast breads, or elaborately decorated cookies, we all have something that we can improve on and we all need inspiration for our endeavors.

Sweet Indulgences Sunday #39

Hello! Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I was happy when the work day came to an end yesterday. My husband and I took our sons out to dinner last night at their favorite Japanese restaurant to celebrate them both making the honor roll on their report cards. Then, we ran by Krispy Kreme on the way home for a box of doughnuts - we're still munching on those.

This morning was full of errands but, fortunately, I've reached the point where I'm finishing the rest of the day in my kitchen. Just took out a batch of Cake Batter Blondies. I'm preparing to put a couple of racks of ribs on the smoker and I have some shrimp thawing for tomorrow's dinner.

I haven't been writing as much for the blog and I want to correct that. I cook a lot but have to plan what will be on the blog and what will be featured in my weekly column. So, there's always a lot of stuff in the queue to be published in various places. I need a personal assistant to help me keep it all straight. Anyway, I can't wait to see what all of you organized and creative people have prepared this week.

Sweet Indulgences Sunday #38

It was back to the old grind this week after being off for two weeks over the holidays. I'm glad to have that first week of work behind me and will be spending some quality time at home this weekend with my washing machine and dishwasher. But, my oven and I have already had a moment this morning when I made these cinnamon rolls from CakeSpy.

I'm still trying to focus on my resolutions for the year. I've been feeling like I'm in a rut with my blog lately, so I'm pondering what needs to be done. I'm just glad I have friends like you to inspire me. Can't wait to see what you've been up to this week.

From my kitchen (this very morning)...

Recipes that rang in the New Year:

Invitation Cookies

New Year's Mimosa Cupcakes

I don't have enough fun in my life! Unfortunately, I don't see any fun activities in the near future. But, there are some fun recipes out there that can liven up a dull, boring existence. And, most of those recipes are in Jessie Oleson's Cakespy Presents Sweet Treats for a Sugar-Filled Life from Sasquatch Books. Visit Jessie at CakeSpy to see what I'm talking about.

Warm Deviled Crab Dip

I made this dip last night for New Year's Eve. I think it's fitting for a special occasion. Crab can be expensive unless you're in an area where you can catch your own. If that's the case, I envy you. For this recipe, I used claw meat because it's cheaper than lump crab. I think a combination of lump and claw would be wonderful. I wanted to recapture the flavors I love so much in deviled crab into this dip. I think I succeeded.
