Sweet Indulgences Sunday #29

Hello! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm planning on trying my hand at pie-making this weekend. Maybe I should be more specific - I'm trying my hand at pie crust-making. I'm going to have to do it the old fashioned way with a pastry cutter as I don't have a food processor so I'm going to be channeling the spirits of my grandmothers before me. I hope I have the knack for it. I really want to have this perfected before Thanksgiving.

This week, I wrote a review for a brand new cookbook that I know will be right up your alley: Sugar, Sugar: Every Recipe Has a Story by Kimberly Reiner and Jenna Sanz-Agero, better known as the Sugar Mommas. I'm also hosting a giveaway of the cookbook here on A Well-Seasoned Life so I hope you'll stop by and enter the giveaway. The deadline is November 14, 2011. While you're there, you can get a sneak peek at one of their recipes. Hope to see you there!

  4. I have also seen people make pie crust dough using their kitchenaid mixer. Just an idea...

I make those brownies all the time for Christmas - the neighbors LOVE them. I found the recipe entitled "Knock You Naked Brownies" a few years ago. I made them here: http://whisktogether.wordpress.com/2011/05/21/knock-you-naked-brownies/
Delicious and keep quite well in a sealed container. I have frozen them too with great success!

  11. Hey Kim!
I'm Chef Corey from Family Fresh Meals. Great Linky Party! I added the Carrot Cake Cupcakes! I also just started a new recipe Linky called Sunday Funday: Recipe of the Week. This first week's theme is CROCKPOT, and next week is pasta. Each week will be a new theme. Once this Sunday Funday gets going, I would LOVE to do a random gift card giveaway each week. But I am going to need a good amount of posts to start that, so come join the fun each week. At the end of the week, a recipe/blog will be picked at random to be the featured recipe for the following week.
