Seasonings Greetings

I do love a good pun. In honor of some small victories here on my blog, I'm going to celebrate by sharing one of my basic kitchen shortcuts with you. If you've read some of my original recipes, you will see that I almost always use the same combination of seasonings. Here, in my kitchen, we call it Kim's Mix and have saved some effort by combining all of my favorite seasonings into one bottle. I wouldn't know where to begin cooking if I opened my cupboard and couldn't find:
  • Lawry's Seasoning Salt
  • Garlic salt
  • Course Ground Black Pepper

Here are the dimensions I use to make a bottle of Kim's Mix: Equal amounts of seasoning salt and garlic salt, plus 1/3 of the amount of pepper. Kind of reminds you of sand art, doesn't it?

And, here's what your sand art looked like after your little brother or sister got their hands on it...

But, anyway, combining your favorite seasonings into one bottle really does make life easier, especially if you're seasoning on the grill, camping out, or cooking in a different kitchen from your own. You don't have to use my combination and you certainly don't have to call it Kim's Mix unless your name is Kim, too, or you just really like me which makes me happy!

Enjoy!!!

  1. Those are the three main ingredients my son and I use also. Why didn't I think to combine them? That's a great idea! Thank you for sharing!

  3. Looks great - similar to Paula Deen's "house seasoning".
